Get the Most Out of Your Long Stay in Stockholm
Green Areas and Parks
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are numerous parks and green spaces throughout the city. Djurgården is a destination in itself, with a multitude of walking paths and attractions. Near the University, you'll find Stora Skuggan Park. More centrally in the city, there's Rålambshovsparken in Kungsholmen or Vitabergsparken in Södermalm.
Restaurants
There's a constant debate among Stockholmers about where to find the best meatballs, and the city offers a variety of options. Popular choices include institutions like Tranan or Tennstopet in Odenplan, Riche or Prinsen in Östermalm, and restaurants like Kvarnen or Pelikan in Södermalm. However, Stockholm has more to offer than just meatballs. Around Nytorget, you'll find restaurants like La Vecchia Segnora, Cafe Nizza, and Blue Light Yokohama that have won the hearts of many Stockholm residents. Vasastan is also a culinary hub with restaurants like Sushi Sho, Flippin Burgers, Minh Mat, or Totemo Ramen. In the Slakthusområdet area, numerous award-winning restaurants like Solen, Afrika, and Bar Montan offer fantastic taste experiences.
Sports
Sweden loves sports, and the atmosphere is often lively in the stands. When the football series Allsvenskan is underway, the derby matches between the four Stockholm clubs are sports highlights. You can also watch hockey at the Avicii Arena to see teams from the Swedish Hockey League compete, or attend a friendly bandy match at Zinkendamms IP.
Culture and Music
If you need a cultural touch, Stockholm has a variety of museums to offer. Moderna Museet features internationally acclaimed art with contemporary artists. You can also visit Sven Harry's Art Museum in Vasastan. On Hudiksvallsgatan, several modern art galleries make up the Stockholm Gallery District. There's also plenty of music and concerts. Venues like Fasching and Nalen showcase a broad catalog of lesser-known artists, and you can often catch world-famous performers at one of the city's larger arenas.
Shopping
If you enjoy shopping, there are plenty of malls to visit. The largest, Mall of Scandinavia, is located right next to our apartment hotel on Evenemangsgatan 48. Täby Centrum also offers a large shopping mall with numerous stores. For second-hand and smaller shops, the city center is a great shopping destination where you can stroll around Stockholm's streets and explore unique, small boutiques.
